VIRSIG Video as a Service

VIRSIG’s Video as a Service (VVAAS ) is a process through which we provide our clients with the capability to view live video coverage of a specified location. The video is captured from the on-location camera and delivered over the Internet. It can be viewed on any authorized and compatible remote device.

This type of hosted video as a service is a remote surveillance solution that is we both provided and manage. The infrastructure consists of network/Internet enabled surveillance cameras and a VIRSIG provided customer-premised equipment (CPE) device, generally a switch, video server or both.

When enabled, VVAAS captures and records live video that is stored on the CPE device and is also continuously backed up on our remote video storage server. This allows clients to view live video coverage as well as archived video logs by accessing specified server.

Besides viewing live or recorded videos, a VVAAS solution enables clients to remotely configure cameras and CPE devices, as well as perform most troubleshooting and administrative tasks.

However, some VVAAS systems might eliminate the need for a CPE device where the cameras are directly connected to the Internet through an Ethernet or wireless network connection.
