VIRSIG's Director of Communications Honored as 'Communications Professional of the Year'

Shelomo Alfassa was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award for Communications Professional of the Year in The 15th Annual American Business Awards today.The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. They are the issuer of the Stevie® Award, described as being the Oscar® of the business community.

Shelomo Alfassa is Director of Communications for VIRSIG, a network-centric technology company that specializes in engineering information transport systems, with a focus on electronic security. Mr. Alfassa was initially chosen out of the original pool of corporate nominees, then chosen as one of 12 finalists, and subsequently named a Silver Award Winner. Being a winner is a significant achievement worthy of national recognition as a professional in his field; it means independent judges agreed—Mr. Alfassa stood out among his peers.

More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, and Marketing Campaign of the Year, among others. More than 190 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. The awards will be presented to all winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on June 20, 2017.

Professional individuals, and previous corporate winners, are associated with firms such as: Apple, Cisco Systems, Vistaprint, Accenture, Cigna, AT&T, Ford Motor Co., PayPal, Dollar Shave Club, ZipRecruiter, Tata Consultancy Services, and Unilever. In 2015, the American Business Awards presented VIRSIG with a Silver Stevie® award for “Best New Tech Startup” of the Year.

Stevie Awards competitions receive more than 10,000 entries each year from organizations in more than 60 nations. “The 2017 competition was intense and every organization and professional that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
