VIRSIG BECOMES NEW MEMBER OF THE U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

New York, NY – VIRSIG, LLC., a New York City-based security technology firm focused on protecting both people and infrastructure, is proud to be a new Member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Working with a community of more than 12,000 organizations dedicated to advancing buildings that are environmentally responsible in the way they are designed, built and operated.

“Partnering the USGBC was just a natural progression for us a company, as part of our overall sustainability strategy” said Shelomo Alfassa, VIRSIG’s Director of Communications. “VIRSIG is committed to championing environmental sustainment—indoors and outdoors—for all of our stakeholders, and the USGBC will help us better facilitate that,” he added.

VIRSIG is committed to championing environmental sustainment by utilizing practices which promote improved indoor air quality. This includes utilizing ‘green’ installation products whenever possible, such as low VOC (volatile organic compound) cables, solvents, and adhesives, which minimize off-gassing.

The U.S. Green Building Council drives its mission with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System, supporting a rich education and research agenda and an aggressive education and advocacy program delivered at the local level. The USGBC is commitment to the creation of healthy, efficient and equitable buildings, and VIRSIG now joins them in that enterprise.

VIRSIG’s design and engineering technology activities lends itself to the protection of organizations through innovative systems, custom-engineered software applications, specialized hardware (IP cameras and access control), and secure high-speed monitored networks. VIRSIG is a federally certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB); an ISO 26000 compliant company, and a member of the Security Industry Association (SIA).
