VIRSIG To Provide Operational Support and Increased Situational Awareness at 2014 TCS New York City

On the first Sunday in November, over one million spectators will cheer on some 50,000 participants, competing through the streets of New York City, and who will help keep the crowds safe—Virsig, LLC., and a consummate team of leading security industry partners.

Virsig, a platinum performer in the national IP network and electronic security industry, has engineered and is deploying a networked electronic security push package that will increase overall situational awareness at the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. Augmenting Virsig are several professional partners have contributed specialized technology products to provide operational support at the world’s largest marathon.

Sony is supplying the latest ultra wide dynamic range IP surveillance cameras. These IPELA Engine cameras will be tactically coordinated through Milestone Systems XProtect Corporate, a powerful IP video management software (VMS) designed for large-scale and high-security deployments. Network Video Technologies (NVT) is supplying the long distance IP Ethernet video transmission system, a key element of the overall communications architecture for the NYC Marathon security deployment. Linking all of these systems together will be Virsig’s anchor partner, Firetide®, Inc. – a Division of UNICOM® Global, who will be providing dual radio / tri-band spectrum Wireless Mesh Nodes, that can securely transmit concurrent video, voice, and data. Video storage and viewing station equipment is being provided bySeneca. Together, our security industry partners are a symbiotic team. Virsig and the technology partners will be assisted by Centennial Security Integration (CSI), a NYC based security firm with over a decade experience. CSI professional installation craftsman will help transform Virsig’s multiple node security architecture for the marathon into a single seamless system. "Virisg’s networked equipment push package was developed to be seamlessly integrated into the overall situational awareness footprint and the marathon leadership center. City-Wide Disaster Services (CDS) of NYC, an emergency communications organization will be supporting Virsig's marathon role by making available communication gear and their Mobile Command Center, a modern field deployable communications platform. The 2014 TCS New York City Marathon attracts over 50,000 participants, made up of both leading competitors and recreational contenders that are cheered on by more than one million live spectators and a TV audience of over 300 million.
