COVID Update - April 2021

The following is an update based upon information distributed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the State of New York, which pertain to VIRSIG and all employers. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the current guidelines as of April 2021 and understand who are considered fully vaccinated:

  • People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or

  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

If you don’t meet these requirements, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated. Those who are vaccinated may:

  • Visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or staying 6 feet apart.

  • Refrain from quarantine and testing if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19 after contact with someone who has COVID-19.

Those who have not received the vaccination should:

  • Wear a well-fitted mask.

  • Stay at least 6 feet from people you do not live with (the 3’ rule is for school children only).

  • Avoid medium- and large-sized in-person meetings.

  • Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Follow CDC and health department travel requirements and recommendations.

Please note in respect to New York State law, all VIRSIG employees who have not yet had the vaccination, may take up to four hours of paid leave for each COVID-19 vaccine injection. If you have yet to receive your vaccination and need to schedule time off, please contact your direct report.
